Group Chief Executive Officer Anthony Catachanas FEI appeared on last week’s BritishAmerican Business and Debevoise & Plimpton panel, “Economic Statecraft: How the Emerging Front in National Security Impacts Cross‑Border Firms,” alongside Rick Sofield, Paolo Surico, and moderator Timothy McIver.

Anthony Catachanas FEI: "We often see less involvement from private capital sources in Europe, markets are often led by public funding sources, relative to what we see in the US, where private market participants are core superpower of the US economy.
Enabling non-government parties to participate in capital markets is key to ensuring economic security and resilience. European and British leaders in particular should be reminded that capital markets are a core part of a nation's arsenal of economic statecraft. In the 21st century, the preservation sovereignty may in fact depend on it.
The UK in particular should aim to reclaim its role as a gateway to international capital markets."
A sincere thank you to the BritishAmerican Business and Debevoise & Plimpton for hosting.
