Gabriela is a legal consultant to the firm in South America, based in the firm’s Rio de Janeiro office, assisting the Brazilian team to operate within the bounds of applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards and complying with the group’s policies.
Since 2020, Gabriela has been a contract attorney for the law firm A&O Shearman, working on various capital markets, corporate finance and restructuring transactions. Prior to this, she was the Head of Legal of the navigation services company Bravante, in Rio de Janeiro, where she also acted as Secretary to the Board of Directors.
Previously, she was a legal manager at Manabi S.A., a greenfield mining company, where she also acted as Secretary to the Board of Directors, prior to overseeing the sale of the company.
She began her career working on litigation at firms Castro, Barros, Sobral, Gomes Advogados and Borgerth, Miranda, Santana, Leite Advogados, in Rio de Janeiro, after working as a legal intern at Shell Brasil Ltda. Gabriela served as an independent member of the Board of Directors of NTS – Nova Transportadora do Sudeste for two years.
Gabriela holds an LL.M degree from Cambridge University, an LL.M degree from NYU School of Law, and a bachelor in laws from Universidade do Rio de Janeiro. Gabriela is qualified to practice law in New York and in Brazil.
